January Program Descriptions

Happy New Year!  We’ve slightly changed our registration policy for programs.  We are requesting that you sign up in advance for a program that you wish to attend.  This guarantees that we have enough space, materials and other tools to make our programs amazing for you, our patrons!  Thank you!

Every Tuesday at 5:30pm – Evening Baby Time!
Suggested for Infants to Toddlers

Baby time is composed of a lot of fun songs, rhymes, and movement games to do any time with your baby! It’s also just a special time to work in a little one on one time during the busy day.

Every Wednesday at 9:30am – Morning Baby Time!

Suggested for Ages 18 months – 4 years old

Join us every Wednesday morning for Story Time!  During story time we learn songs together and include lots of movement such as dancing, yoga, ASL, and more!  The stories are chosen with interaction in mind to hold children’s attention and get them excited about reading!  We include number and letter recognition through games and songs as well.  At each story time we create a special project to take home that reflects our theme of that week. Check the calendar for each week’s themes!  Come join us, we’d love to see you there 🙂

Write It Out Wednesdays

This is a four week journaling program; please contact me (Robyn) directly via phone or email if you cannot attend all four Wednesdays.

Amongst other things we will focus on…

Prompts and guides for mindful journaling.

Free writing/ stream of consciousness exercises.

If you’ve never journaled before, give this a try.

If you journal every day, give this a try.

Friday Crafternoon
Registration Required
Do you like to knit, crochet or scrapbook?  Bring your craft and enjoy the open, quiet space of the library to craft away!  Feel free to bring a friend.

At comic club we collaborate and create original storylines and artwork for comicstrips that will be publicized on the Library’s teen page.

Join us for the inaugural meeting of the Oxford Public Library’s new book group, sponsored by the Friends of the Library in Oxford.  This month we discuss Michelle McNamara’s best-selling true crime memoir, I’ll Be Gone in the Dark:  One Woman’s Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer.

Interested attendess are not required to complete the book before the meeting, though discussion will include spoilers.

Warning:  This book includes graphic and disturbing content, and is intended for adult audiences.

ADULT BOOK DISCUSSION – KILLING TRAIL BY MARGARET MIZUSHIMA

A K-9 unit in Colorado on a drug-searching mission comes across a dead girl and a wounded dog.  The local vet helps the team discover who killed her and why.  The K-9 unit details are wonderful, and sure to please dog-lovers and mystery fans alike
